For Christmas from Mikado we are partnering with Operation Christmas Child to send gifts and the Gospel to needy children all around the world.
Christmas isn’t just about getting gifts, it’s about giving them! So many in our world are not able to enjoy the things we take for granted on a weekly basis. However, providing needy people with physical help is only part of the solution. They need spiritual help as well. They need to discover what Christmas is truly about and learn about Christ’s love through our generosity.
On December 9th, members of Mikado Baptist Church will meet in Palmer Hall to assemble, pack, and ship hundreds of gift boxes that will be sent all around the world to help children in need. Leading up to that time, we need our members help to supply the necessary contents for these boxes and the needed funds to ship them.
To be involved, you can help in four ways:
- You can pick up a gift box and a packing list from the Info Desk. After taking that box home, you can fill it with the required contents (indicated on the packing list) and bring the box back to the Info Desk by December 3rd.
- You can pick up a packing list from the Info Desk and use it to buy select items to donate. You don’t have to buy the whole list, just whatever you can afford from the list. Multiple quantities of the same product is perfectly fine, as long as the packing list asks for it. You can bring your donations back to the Info Desk by December 3rd. The Info Desk will bag and save them for packing on December 9th. On that day, a large group of people will use the donated supplies to pack as many boxes as possible.
- You can donate money at the Info Desk by December 3rd to help cover the cost of shipping the boxes once they’ve been assembled.
- You can come on December 9th to Palmer Hall for a free breakfast and then pack boxes with other church members.
Each box that is packed will include a Gospel presentation, so remember that these gifts are impacting eternity. God is not as concerned with how much we can give as He is with how we give! We hope everyone will have a part in Christmas from Mikado. If you have questions, please stop at the Info Desk in the EC lobby before or after any service, or contact our church office during the week.
