Academy of Music

The Mikado Academy of Music—a ministry of Mikado Baptist Church—functions under the umbrella of the music ministry and serves the church by providing excellent training in the fine arts. Our goal is to assist in meeting students’ spiritual needs, developing future church music leaders, and acting as an outreach platform of Mikado Baptist Church.

It is our desire to provide the best in fine arts instruction. We are dedicated to creating an atmosphere where students can learn music, grow spiritually and use their talents to glorify our Creator.

• Composition & Improvisation (emphasis on church music, student must be at least a late-intermediate level pianist)

• Aug. 9 — Faculty Dinner
• Aug. 15 — Fall Semester Begins*
• Nov. 21-25 — Fall Break
• Dec. 16 — Semester Ends
• Dec. 19-Jan. 6 — Winter Break
• Jan. 9 — Spring Semester Begins*
• Mar. 12-16 — Spring Break
• May 3 & 5 — Spring Recitals (7:00pm)
• May 11 — Semester Ends

*Note: each semester contains 17 lessons.

Registration Fees & Tuition Rates

Please include all registration and tuition fees with your registration form.

The early registration deadline is July 15. The first registration fee is $25.00 ($35.00 if after July 15th), and any additional registrations (either a second type of lesson or a second student within the same family) is $10.00 ($15.00 if after July 15th).

The tuition fees cover all lessons, and goes toward administrative expenses, salaries and recital expenses. Registration fees and lesson books are not covered by the tuition. The tuition may be paid in full at the beginning of each semester, or may be paid in 5 convenient monthly payments. The semester rates given below include 17 lessons.

• 30 minute private lesson: $300.00 (monthly: $60.00)
• 45 minute private lesson: $450.00 (monthly: $90.00)
• 60 minute private lesson: $600.00 (monthly: $120.00)
• Art Classes (4 sessions, includes all supplies): $80.00 (payment due at registration)

*Note: Some instructors recommend or require 45 minute lessons. Advanced students may be required to take 60 minute lessons.
