Webster defines a turning point as “a time at which a decisive change occurs, especially one with beneficial results.” Over the past fifteen years, Pastor Rusty Smith has challenged the members of Mikado to “sit, soak, and serve.” For many, sitting and soaking can last from three months to twelve months. For others, serving is part of their DNA, and they can’t wait to join and then serve the Lord at Mikado!
For every believer, there will come a time in which the Holy Spirit will stir a believer’s heart to make a decisive change from “sitting and soaking” to “serving.” Turning Point is the class at Mikado designed to help members fulfill their purpose in serving Christ. It is offered monthly, and this interactive class uses a Post It Note to challenge members to understand their S.H.A.P.E. and then prayerfully identify the ministry/ministries where God has uniquely gifted and equipped them to serve!
If you have completed the Starting Point class, joined Mikado Baptist Church, and are ready to begin serving, RSVP by either completing the “Sign Up Here” section in the Sunday bulletin, emailing the office (firstname.lastname@example.org), or filling out the contact form below. Turning Point takes place one Wednesday a month at 6:45 PM in the Conference Room.
