In God We Trust – Day Twenty

We have reached the midpoint of our 40 day journey of prayer and fasting for the upcoming election. Our theme throughout this journey has been “In God We Trust.” That phrase is the official motto of our great nation, is printed on all of our currency, can be seen on many state license plates, is stamped into national monuments, and can also be seen on many signs and billboards.

The song “In God We Still Trust,” written by songwriters Bill Nash, Kim Nash, and Robert LeClair, is a great reminder of the many places the motto is used and seen, as well as the challenge that lies before us to keep God at the forefront of America. May the words of this song encourage you to continue to pray for America, and to proudly show the world that you truly trust in God by what you say and what you do. We must pray it, we must say it, and we must live it!

“You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the truth
His name is on our greatest monuments, and all our money too,
And when we pledge allegiance, there’s no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we’re one nation under him.
In God we still trust
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our strength
The one who watches over us
Here in America
In God we still trust
Now there are those among us, who want to push him out,
And erase his name from everything, this country’s all about,
From the schoolhouse to the courthouse, they’re silencing His word,
Now it’s time for all believers, to make our voices heard.
In God we still trust,
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our strength
The one who watches over us
Here in America
In God we still trust!”

“Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name” (Psalms‬ ‭33:20-21‬).
