God Will Make a Way
Exodus 14
The Israelites had been in bondage to the Egyptians for 400 years. God called Moses to lead the people out of Egypt and to a land that God had promised them through Abraham many years before. Not long after starting their march toward freedom, they faced a seemingly impossible situation. There were huge, impassable mountain ranges on either side of them, the Red Sea in front of them, and the Egyptian army in hot pursuit behind them. God knew exactly where they were and what they faced. He could see what they couldn’t see. God parted the waters of the Red Sea and they walked through to safety.
What giant obstacle are you facing today? Does it look like a dead end with no way out? God sees a path that you don’t see, a way to overcome your seemingly impossible situation. Even when you don’t see that path you must trust God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Don’t try to figure out what God is doing – that’s leaning on your own understanding. Don’t try to make your own path – that could lead to an even worse situation. Simply trust Him, be faithful, be patient, pray, and wait for God to show you the path to freedom and the way to overcome your seemingly dead end. God sees what you don’t see! Dan Moen’s words to a beautiful song fit perfectly:
“God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way”
