Most new automobiles come equipped with some form of device or technology to control speed. These devices are called governors, speed controllers, and speed regulators. Years ago, they were put in most commercial vehicles as a safety device to limit the top speed a truck or bus could go. Today these regulators are installed in most vehicles to control RPMs, which in effect does somewhat limit top speed. These newer regulators are sensors, sending information to the vehicle computer, that in turn limit the amount of fuel being injected into the engine. Many newer, high horsepower engines, such as those found in a Mustang, Challenger, Camaro, Corvette, and others, use these devices to control top speed. There are ways to bypass these systems, one of which is thru the use of a computer chip. Ignoring or overriding these systems in a high powered car can be extremely unsafe and dangerous.
We as Christians have an internal regulator that was installed in our body, soul, and mind the day we accepted Jesus as our Savior. That regulator is the Holy Spirit of God, given to comfort us, strengthen us, guide us, pray for us, and to warn us of danger and evil. Don’t override your inner regulator; stay tuned to Him through prayer, Bible study, and memorization of Scripture. In doing so, you’ll safely navigate through the difficult circumstances and dangerous times in your life.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalms 121:1-8).
