Trust me!

“Trust me!” All of us have either heard these words or have declared them to someone else. We want to trust people, but more importantly we want people to trust us. If a spouse or workmate or child doesn’t trust us, we feel undermined and threatened. It brings into question our integrity, our love and our strength.

Ironically, nowhere in Scripture are we instructed to trust other people. In fact, we are cautioned against it (Psalm 146:3 Jeremiah 17:5) because man is frail, fickle, and fallen.

God, on the other hand, is totally trustworthy; that is why we are commanded to trust in Him exclusively and entirely. Isaiah 26:3, 4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. God has proven Himself both willing and able to give us what we need, when we need it, by any means He chooses.

The Sovereign and Almighty One is eternally strong. Therefore I will trust Him constantly and experience peace.

God says, “Trust me!”
