“We have lost power!” Those words are terrifying to hear whether in a plane, a car or in your home. You cannot advance, you are paralyzed, stuck and may even feel desperate.
Only several weeks ago, a storm knocked out power in our home. We began to do all we could to get the power back on while utilizing temporary measures to function. Flashlights work only for a few hours; cold food doesn’t satisfy after a while; and communication is hindered without a charged phone.
Where do we go when we feel as if we have “lost power” in our Christian life? We can’t see clearly to make decisions or see what God is doing in our lives. God’s Word has become dry and easily neglected. We are not making progress and feel stuck and discouraged. It is time to return to the source of our power and draw from its endless supply!
Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” The Gospel saved you, freeing you from sin forever and making you a chosen child of God. That truth gives you assurance, peace and power!
Also, Hebrews 4:12, For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…” Get in the Word! It cleanses. It energizes! It is sufficient for every need.
You are never without power with the Gospel and the Word of God.
